Murder Mystery Afternoon Tea Train!
A Murder Mystery on our Afternoon Tea train at the Spa Valley Railway!
Theres been a murder in the sleepy little Cornish village of Morlington Hill during the 1940s and the police have drawn a blank on apprehending the villain! We’re calling on you to sleuth it out and find the murderer over afternoon tea on board one of our heritage trains! This service is scheduled to be hauled by both a steam locomotive and a heritage diesel locomotive.
Performed by a regular group of professional actors including: Abi Harris, Radley Mason and Max Day you can come along to try your hand at solving a murder, it is up to you to find out whodunnit and you might even win a prize!
The mystery starts at Tunbridge Wells West station with a briefing at 13:15 sharp, then we transfer to our train where the story gets more interesting as the afternoon draws in. On our way out of Tunbridge Wells West enjoy a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, scones, cakes, and a choice of teas as you travel through the High Weald countryside to Eridge.
Upon arrival at our country station more of the story will unfold and you will need to be on the platform not to miss the action, your train will return to Tunbridge Wells West, giving you just enough time to come up with who you think may have committed the dastardly deed! The mystery finishes back at Tunbridge Wells West in our shed when all will become clear. These events are great fun in groups so why not get a party together for this unique afternoon experience and as every performance of the Morlington Mysteries is different you can enjoy this more than once a year.
Afternoon Tea
Working in partnership with Carly’s Afternoon Teas our Afternoon Tea on a steam hauled train combined with a Murder Mystery experience is a fun way to enjoy this traditional British cuisine, tuck into a wonderful selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, scones, cakes, and a choice of teas, all available to you at your table.

- Murder Mystery experience on a steam and heritage diesel hauled train starting and finishing at Tunbridge Wells West.
- Afternoon Tea, either Adult or Child.
- At seat waiting service with drinks service allowing you to purchase more drinks on board.
Adult Afternoon Tea Menu (£48 per adult, includes Afternoon Tea menu and train travel):
- 4x finger sandwiches on white bread (Coronation Chicken, Egg & Cress, Tuna & Sweetcorn and Cucumber & Cream Cheese)
- 1x plain or fruit scone with Strawberry Conserve and Clotted Cream
- 3x squares of cake (Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Brownie and Carrot Cake)
- Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey Tea
Child Afternoon Tea Menu (£34 per child, includes Afternoon Tea menu and train travel):
- 3x finger sandwiches on white bread
- Crisps
- Strawberries
- A cookie, Victoria Sponge & Chocolate Brownie
- Juice
Vegetarian Menu:
- 4 finger sandwiches ((Egg & Cress, Cucumber & Cream Cheese, Coronation Hummus and Cheese & Tomato)
- 1 plain or fruit scone with Strawberry Conserve and Clotted Cream
- 3 squares of cake (Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Brownie and Carrot Cake)

Vegan Menu:

- Under 2’s travel free but do not get allocated a seat or receive the Afternoon Tea menu
