Vineyard & Steam Tours with Wildwood Vineyard & Spa Valley Railway will return in 2026
The 2026 Vineyard & Steam Tours will soon be available to book. The experience will include Wine Tastings at Wildwood Vineyard in Eridge and a steam train ride on the historic Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells.
This popular experience is a fantastic opportunity to travel by steam train or heritage diesel through the picturesque countryside to Eridge. Wildwood Vineyard is just a 13-minute walk along a footpath from the station and on arrival at Eridge guests will be met by the Vineyards’ owner, Paul Olding, who will escort everyone to the Vineyard for a tour and wine tasting event when arriving on the 11.30 train. Afterwards everyone will walk back to Eridge station to take the steam train back to Tunbridge Wells West.
A second event will be held in the afternoons with trains departing Tunbridge Wells West at 12.55 and arriving into Eridge station at 13.25. Passengers booked onto this train will be required to make their own way to the Vineyard. Easy directions provided.
Itinerary
Board the train at Tunbridge Wells West Station at the time selected which will be either 11.30 or 12.55
Arrive at Eridge and take the short walk along a track to Wildwood Vineyard to enjoy a fabulous hour-long wine tasting experience. There will then be time to enjoy the Vineyard at your leisure before walking back to Eridge station for your booked return train journey to Tunbridge Wells West.
The return trains will also need to be booked in advance and depart from Eridge Station at 14:45 if you take the 11:30 tour or 16:10 if you take the 12:55 tour. Trains arrive at Tunbridge Wells West at 15:10 or 16:35 respectively.

About the Spa Valley Railway
The volunteers at the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells have been operating steam trains and heritage diesel locomotives from Tunbridge Wells West for the past 26 years. The railway is just a short walk from the town’s historic pantiles and attracts visitors from all over the world. Train Services operate most weekends and school holidays between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge calling at High Rocks and Groombridge. Special events operate throughout the year including dining trains, theatrical events and the Polar Express Christmas experience.
About Wildwood Vineyard
Wildwood Vineyard is a boutique, award winning, family-owned vineyard hidden away near the village of Eridge, East Sussex. All the vines are tended by hand to produce premium grapes to create high quality English still and sparkling wines. The vineyard offers three still wines – Bishop Odo Bacchus aromatic white, Eagle Ridge Pinot Noir rose and a light bodied Thieving Badger Regent red. The Bishop Odo Bacchus 2022 was awarded a Silver Medal in the 2023 WineGB awards. The Pinot Noir Rosé 2019 and Pandemic Pink 2020 both won Silver Medals in the Independent English Wine Awards. The Thieving Badger Regent 2021 and 2022 won Gold and Silver respectively at the International Piwi Wine awards in Germany.
The vineyard has a fully licensed Cellar Door and offers tours and tastings most weekends through the summer months.
