Castles and Stately Homes in Kent

Groombridge Place

Groombridge Place is now closed for refurbishment and will open as a Pig Hotel in 2025.

You can however still take a walk round the wonderful historic village and take the footpath alongside the beautiful moated manor house of Groombridge Place.

Groombridge Place has featured in many films and was the setting for the film Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley in 2005.

Groombridge is also home to a station on the Spa Valley Railway line which serves trains from Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.

Hole Park Gardens

The attractive house on the Hole Park Estate in Rolvenden, Kent is surrounded by fabulous gardens on all sides which include some wonderful water features and statues. The house is not open to the public but the gardens are open to visitors from 1 April every year. Don’t miss the spectacular bluebell display from mid April onwards. The Gardens also play host to the Wealden Times Midsummer Fair annually in addition to a popular Proms Event. The Gardens are also open several times every year for the National Garden Scheme.

Also worth a visit is Scotney Castle which is also a short drive from Spa Town of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Scotney Castle is full of adventures all year round! Immerse yourself in the history of the 16th century castle, and the vast grounds which surround it.

Crammed with paintings, textiles, furniture and books the house feels like the last owner Betty has just popped out to the shops.
