Afternoon Tea on a Steam Train at the Spa Valley Railway

Combine the elegance of steam train travel with a quintessentially British treat as you enjoy Afternoon Tea on one of a steam train in Tunbridge Wells.  The train journey takes passengers through the glorious High Weald countryside in the Garden of England.   See the pretty wild flowers along the track and the famous oast houses along the line.  You can also see the famous sandstone rocks at High Brooms.

Working in partnership with Carly’s Afternoon Teas, there is no finer way to relax than with Afternoon Tea on a steam train.

Enjoy an excellent selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, scones, cakes, and a choice of teas, all available to you at your table.  You can choose to add a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy with your afternoon tea when you book.

The experience will last just over 1 hour, and the train returns to the station you boarded at.

What’s included:

• A heritage train ride lasting around 1 hour along the Spa Valley Railway. Your departure time and station are shown on your eTicket, and you’ll return to your start location.
• Afternoon Tea, either Adult or Child.
• Opportunity to stretch your legs to see the locomotive that has pulled your train at either end of the line.
• At-seat waiting service with drinks service allows you to purchase more drinks on board.

Adult Afternoon Tea Menu (£38 per adult, includes Afternoon Tea menu and train travel):

• 4x finger sandwiches on white bread (Coronation Chicken, Egg & Cress, Tuna & Sweetcorn and Cucumber & Cream Cheese)
• 1x plain or fruit scone with Strawberry Conserve and Clotted Cream
• 3x squares of cake (Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Brownie and Carrot Cake)
• Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey Tea

Child Afternoon Tea Menu (£24 per child, includes Afternoon Tea menu and train travel):

• 3x finger sandwiches on white bread
• Crisps
• Strawberries
• A cookie, Victoria Sponge & Chocolate Brownie
• Juice

Vegetarian Menu:

• 4 finger sandwiches ((Egg & Cress, Cucumber & Cream Cheese, Coronation Hummus and Cheese & Tomato)
• 1 plain or fruit scone with Strawberry Conserve and Clotted Cream
• 3 squares of cake (Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Brownie and Carrot Cake)
• Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey Tea

Vegan Menu: 

• 4 finger sandwiches (Guacamole & Tomato, Coronation Hummus, Vegan Butter & Cucumber and Vegan Cheese & Pickle)
• 1 plain or fruit scone with Strawberry Conserve and Coconut Cream
• 3 squares of vegan cake (Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Brownie and Carrot Cake)

• Under 2’s travel free but do not get allocated a seat or receive the Afternoon Tea menu.
