Bluebell Spectacular in Kent
Take a walk through the woodlands around Kent in April and early May and you will be rewarded with swathes of bluebells.
If you walking isn’t easy then why not take a steam train ride on the Spa Valley Railway and you will see the bluebells along the line on the embankments with glimpses of Britain’s favourite native flower in the woodlands next to the railway line.

Bluebell Woods which you can easily reach from one of the train stations along the 5 mile route of the Spa Valley Railway where you can see bluebells include:
High Rocks, Harrison’s Rocks, Tunbridge Wells Common and Birchden Woods in Groombridge are all places to admire bluebells. Each location can be reached from one of the stations operated by the Spa Valley Railway. The steam railway is open at weekends and in school holidays and has delightful stations with refreshments at Tunbridge Wells West, High Rocks, Groombridge and Eridge.
You can walk one way and after enjoying a peaceful walk in the countryside take the train back home.
One exceptional woodland is Birchden Wood, south of Royal Tunbridge Wells, which offers the perfect day out for families, walkers and climbers. Harrison’s Rocks, a sandstone crag owned by the BMC, are right next door and Birchden makes the perfect spot to escape out of the city and into the woods.
