There are plenty of fabulous places in Kent including around the delightful Spa Town of Royal Tunbridge Wells where you can choose to have a cream tea or afternoon tea on Steam Train at the Spa Valley Railway.  The  Pantiles and High Street in Tunbridge Wells also have some great venues to choose from without door and indoor seating including the Pantiles Cafe, Hattons, the Cake Shed to name a few.

The Spa Valley Railway has a reputation for delicious cream teas and afternoon teas on board its wonderful steam trains which operate between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.  The Tunbridge Wells West Station is just a short walk from the historic pantiles (close to the main Sainsburys).  There is plenty of parking at nearby car parks.  These events sell out fast and need to be booked in advance.

This is your chance to just sit back, relax and enjoy a fantastic Afternoon Tea in the High Weald!

Afternoon Tea steam trains offer a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, savory snacks, fruit scones, clotted cream, alongside homemade cakes served with choice of tea or coffee!

Cream Tea’s at the Spa Valley Railway

What a great way to spend the afternoon, enjoying a Cream Tea on a steam and heritage diesel hauled train for a journey from Tunbridge Wells West through the High Weald and return.   Just sit back and relax whilst you tuck into a sultana scone with clotted cream, jam and of course tea!

The delightful experience is just £20 per adult or £15 per child to enjoy a Cream Tea on board our heritage trains.

What’s included in the cream tea ticket price at the Spa Valley Railway?

  • Cream service on the train from Tunbridge Wells West.
  • A traditional Cream Tea served on board one of our heritage carriages.
  • A large sultana scone, clotted cream portion, jam and cup of tea.

Join the train at Tunbridge Wells West and at departure time the train will set off for Eridge.   While taking in the scenic line through  High Rocks and Groombridge on your way to Eridge, enjoy a delicious cream tea before enjoying the return trip back to Tunbridge Wells West.  The experience will  last 1hr 5-15 minutes later. There will be a break at Eridge for you to see the steam locomotive and access the station.
