Step into Wonderland this summer aboard Alice’s Wonderland Express at the Spa Valley Railway!
Families can enjoy a wonderfully chaotic royal adventure this summer as Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, brings Wonderland to life aboard a steam train, promising a memorable day out filled with classic British charm!
The Alice’s Wonderland Express departs from Tunbridge Wells West at 10:00, 11:30 and 13:55 on Saturday, 29th, Sunday, 30th, and Monday, 31st August and Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th September.

Oh dear… what a royal muddle!
The Queen of Hearts’ Royal Train has broken down, and she is stomping and grumbling all over Wonderland. The White Rabbit, Alice and the Mad Hatter are busy preparing for her arrival, but everything has gone a little wrong.
The White Rabbit has lost some very important words, there’s a maze to navigate, riddles to solve, and plenty of Wonderland surprises along the way!

A steam train ride like no other!
As you travel on board our steam train, you’ll discover a collection of curious activities to complete in your activity booklet. Colour the Queen’s roses bright red, create wonderful royal decorations and help transform the train into a magnificent royal carriage fit for the Queen of Hearts herself. Every activity you complete will help get the Royal Train ready before the Queen arrives. Complete each challenge to earn a Royal Railway Stamp and help get the Queen’s Train ready before she arrives.

Of course you would! Included on your Alice in Wonderland Express train ride is a slice of cake and a cold drink (orange or apple juice) for every passenger.

A steam train ride too!
As part of your Alice’s Wonderland Express experience, you will be hauled during the journey by a steam locomotive. Hear the whistle blow and the sound of steam pass by the carriages as you enjoy the interactive experience on board! There’ll be an opportunity to see the steam locomotive during your visit, along with photo opportunities with your favourite characters!
Your tickets mean you can travel on our other trains operating that day, either before or after your ride on Alice’s Wonderland Express.
