Cream Tea on board a heritage train!
Combine the ambience of steam with a British treat, and you enjoy a Cream Tea on one of our heritage trains as you steam through the glorious High Weald countryside.

There is no finer way to relax than with a Cream Tea on a steam-hauled train. Tuck into either a large sultana or plain scone, clotted cream and tiptree strawberry jam.

Why not enhance your Cream Tea by adding a bottle of prosecco at checkout?

Enjoy passing through an area of outstanding natural beauty while keeping an eye out for the famous sandstone rocks and the oast houses of Kent. There’ll be an opportunity to see the locomotive that pulled your train at either end of the journey.

What’s included in the ticket price?

Tuck into a freshly baked plain or fruit scone!

Is it clotted cream and jam first, or jam followed by clotted cream? We don’t judge on our Cream Tea train. With plain and fruit scones, you get to decide! We can cater for vegan and gluten-free dietary requirements, provided we are made aware at the time of booking.

Tea or coffee?

We have a range of Twinings teas and Taylors of Harrogate coffee available for you on board. Each Cream Tea includes two servings to keep your thirst at bay. Semi-skimmed dairy milk or oat milk is available, along with sugar and sweeteners, so you can enjoy your tea or coffee however you like!

Get comfy and enjoy the rolling hills of the High Weald!

One of our fabulous locomotives will pull your train as you sit back, relax and enjoy the Cream Tea. Will it be the mighty 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’, Caledonian Railway No. 828, all the way from Scotland or one of our fabulous and powerful heritage diesel locomotives? You’ll have to book to find out!

Cream Teas are available for Adults (16+) and Children (2-15yrs). We can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements as long as we are informed of them at the time of booking. Please see the menus above for further details.

This experience is suitable for adults and children.

We regret that there can be no refund or transfer to a future date for ‘no show’ customers. The Spa Valley Railway still incurs charges for its services, which must be paid to our suppliers. We recommend taking out insurance to protect yourself if necessary. To re-book, you will be required to pay the full fare again.

Dogs are not permitted on this experience in accordance with our guidelines.

Our dining carriages feature a combination of tables for two and tables for four. Smaller parties may need to share their table at times.
