The Cider Train is set to depart from Spa Valley Railway’s Tunbridge Wells West Station on Saturday, 25 October 2025 at 19:00. This promises to be a memorable evening on board a steam-hauled train, marking the conclusion of this year’s cider and beer festivities.

Tickets and Boarding Information

Tickets for the event are priced at just £5 per person and can be purchased either online or directly at Tunbridge Wells West Station. Once you have secured your ticket, you will be welcomed aboard the historic train for an evening dedicated to cider tasting.

In addition to the cider offerings, a variety of snacks will be on sale onboard, and guests are also welcome to bring their own food to enjoy during the journey.

The Spa Valley Railway is currently undertaking an urgent fundraising campaign, seeking to raise £400,000 needed to replace the vital Broom Lane Bridge between High Rocks and Groombridge.

Donations to the appeal, or participation in events such as the Cider Train, will help the railway reach this important goal to ensure the railway can continue operating into the future.

About the Spa Valley Railway

The Spa Valley Railway is a five-mile heritage railway, operating both steam and diesel trains using vintage rolling stock along the route between Tunbridge Wells West in Kent and Eridge in East Sussex. Of the five miles, four are managed by the Spa Valley Railway, while the remaining mile is maintained by a mainline railway contractor or Network Rail.

Established in 1985 by the Tunbridge Wells & Eridge Railway Preservation Society, a registered charity, the railway is owned by the Wealden Railway Company, with the supporting charitable organisation holding the majority share.

Each year, over 85,000 visitors travel on the Spa Valley Railway, making it the largest tourist attraction in Tunbridge Wells. Half of all passengers take part in the Polar Express Train Ride each November and December, while the remainder enjoy standard train rides or dining experiences from January to October.
