A Right Royal Railway Ride Tue 13 February to Thurs 15 February 2018

Steam along from Tenterden to Bodiam whilst keeping warm and dry through the beautiful Kent & East Sussex countryside whilst your children are decorating their own crowns, swords and princess mirrors on board during the journey.  There will also be a magician travelling through each train to amuse you at your tables.  Everyone can also complete a Royal Activity Sheet with fun facts about the history of our British Royal Family.

Wild Art on 12 February at Knole in Sevenoaks at various times from 10.30am This is an opportunity to make your own bookmark or clay leaf dish inspired by Knole Park.

Suitable for ages 5-11 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. If possible, we ask that only one adult attends per child due to capacity restrictions.

Family workshop at Knole: Create a colourful birdhouse on 14 February at various times from 10.30am.  Assemble your own wooden birdhouse and decorate it with colourful paints. Create a mossy nest inside to make a quirky decoration for your home. Includes a hanging cord so you can display it with pride. All materials are supplied in these hands-on workshops. Family Art Trail at Scotney Castle in Lamberhurst from 11 to 18 February 10 until 4
The Hussey family were keen artists as were many of their friends. Follow your trail and match up the paintings with the view in front of you. At each correct location collect your clue, find them all to collect your prize.  £2 per trail.   Booking not required.  Dogs Welcome on Leads.  Admission applies.

Family Hedge Planting Walk at Scotney Castle  11 to 18 February various times from 11.30
Join the ranger team for a short walk to learn about the hedgerow connections project at Scotney Castle. Then, in the same way as the Hussey children helped to plant trees and shrubs in 1870, have the opportunity yourself to plant some whips in the ground to leave your legacy on the landscape. Open to all the family, there will be the opportunity to plant 1 whip per family. Normal admission prices apply.  Booking not required.

We love teaching our students how to capture nature at it’s best! Scotney Castle is a wonderful place to find nature’s treasures together and record them on our cameras! Students will learn how their camera works, and which camera settings to use in different situations. We will go out and photograph together, taking close-ups of the trees and budding plants, and looking for great viewpoints showcasing Scotney’s natural beauty.  Booking essential.

Charity Tour  at Biddenden Vineyards 17th February 2018, 10am – 12 noon

Learn more about the history of the vineyard & how we make our award winning wines, ciders and juices.

Arrive at the vineyard at 9.45 for a free cup of coffee or tea.  Tours will begin at 10am and take approximately 1 hour. The tour is followed by tastings of a selection of our wines, ciders and juices in our vineyard shop. Please consider the weather conditions on the day of your visit and bring with you suitable footwear.
